Trinity Sunday honors the most fundamental part of our Christian beliefs - the Holy Trinity. The human mind can never fully understand the mystery of the Trinity, but we can sum it up in the following: God is three Persons in one Nature. There is only one God, and the three Persons of God-Father, Son and Holy Spirit-all are equally God. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, step fathers, single fathers, father figures & mentor living & deceased - May the love and selflessness they have shown be returned to them and help them to know that their influence has changed us for the better. On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Nominations will soon be accepted for seats on the St. Michael Parish Pastoral Council. The role of the Parish Pastoral Council is to listen to the parish community to determine the needs of the parish, establish goals, and serve as an advisor to the Pastor. This is a representative body of the entire parish consisting of nine at-large members, representatives of the various parish commissions, and members of the Parish Pastoral Team. The Council meets nine times a year, September through June (except for January) on the first Tuesday of the month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The chosen members will serve three-year terms and they will be prepared to attend their first Parish Pastoral Council meeting on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00 pm. If you feel the calling, or if you know someone who would be a good candidate for Parish Council, please drop your or his or her name in the box when they appear. All nominees will be called to determine their willingness to serve and new members of the Parish Council will be selected by blind lot from those nominated to serve on the Parish Pastoral Council.

A HUGE Thank you to everyone who came to St. Michael yesterday for DEA National Drug Take Back Day. We are so grateful for the residents dropping off over-the-counter and prescribed drugs but also to all the volunteers who worked so hard without judgement. A judgement free zone is why St. Michael does this, to help break down the stigma in this opioid epidemic. We are happy to report we collected 230 lbs. of medications and 76 lbs of recyclables that were taken to the Sterling Heights Recycle Center. A special THANK YOU to the Sterling Heights Police Department, we certainly could do none of this without you, thank you for all you do to support and protect our parish community!
